Whatever free time I get, I love to catch news and sports shows.

Music has done a lot to enhance the emotions of sports. It’s played in arenas. Whenever there is footage cut together they’re always using music. And it goes together, you know.

Sports without music, it’s nothing but a game. Music adds the emotion.

I would love to be associated with some sports organization. I was a journalism major. That’s kind of intriguing, to do something in the political-commentary arena.

Not much is done to promote non-cricket sports in India. There is a lot of talk about how sports needs to reach the grassroots and how it should be introduced as a subject in school, but nothing has been done to that effect.

To compare Olympic sport with cricket would not be fair. Years back, cricket was a sport only for the classes, and we will also have to make other sports masses from classes like cricket.

Cricket pays well, so a lot of people are naturally drawn towards the game. But to carve a niche in non-cricket sports is not easy. So state governments need to be proactive. Indians need to be made aware of the power of an Olympic medal. It should be treated at par with an Oscars or a Nobel Prize.

Sport is an important part of the development of kids, and hence, it should be made a part of their curriculum.

Sometime haters would say or misunderstand how lucky I am to doing what I’m doing, to be healthy and play my sport and passion.

I’ve always been working hard on my speed for the last few years. Obviously I’m not slow, but as a striker, the more speed you have, the better you are.

It’s incredible to win an individual award in a team sport and also one where everybody wants to be able to say, ‘I’m the best.

I did tennis for a while, and I was actually on the volleyball team for a minute.
