The one thing I’ve always done, because I like the sound of my guitar from where I sit – meaning not in front of it – so what I do is, I put microphones around my ears. I have them around my head, too. I don’t know if it’s a superstitious thing, but it’s actually how I recorded my first album.

Every night, it’s a bakery on the bus. It’s a curse, because I talk about how much I love cake, people bring me cake. And now I just found out I’m diabetic, so I’m like, are you kidding me?!

I can’t go to sleep unless I’ve watched at least two episodes of American Dad on Hulu or iTunes. It just feels familiar. It’s like a lullaby.

I used to watch ‘Coming to America’ every day after school. I have full-on long-running inside jokes with friends and family about different scenes in that movie alone. Also, my brother and I loved ‘The Golden Child,’ so, yeah: I was a huge fan of Eddie Murphy growing up.

I been all around the world and I haven’t found a city that I’d rather be from or rather come back to than Los Angeles.

Sometimes I like to watch TV, though I never get to watch any of the shows in real time. I’m a fan of ‘Downton Abbey,’ ‘Boardwalk Empire,’ and ‘Boss.’ There’s a British series called ‘Luther,’ but in England, they think a series means four episodes. And I like ‘Mad Men.’ Otherwise, it’s always good to unwind with a book.
