Life is a movie, pick your own role, Climb your own ladder or you dig your own hole.

I would only take a role that I know I’m comfortable in and I can do. I’ve turned down plenty of things because I’d feel it’s not me, and I wouldn’t want to come on someone’s project and flip that.

I love roles that don’t really have a template or a paradigm and force me to create using my own imagination… that really, really turns me on.

A lot of the time, a moral compass is all that separates a hero from being a villain; otherwise, the two are very much the same. Both are generally the richest and most complex characters, and they get to have all the fun. I guess it’s those types of roles that I ultimately gravitate towards.

As long as you can go on creating new roles for yourself, you are not vanquished.

There are really very few roles for women in films in which you can also make a living.
