I pay a lot of attention to the people I let surround me. I learn something from those people and from everyone – from other musicians, from people on the street.

In Yorkshire there is only the impetus of decline; the farms, the woolen mills, the dairy rounds wither, unravel and turn sour. The family wears out, stumbles politely, tripping over drink and ennui and a genteel surrender to the momentum of underachievement.

If you surround yourself with a bunch of guys who no mas se quieren puro pari and are like, “Aaah, let’s go get some chicks.” Guess what? That’s going to slow you down and keep your head somewhere else.

What surrounds us we endure better for giving it a name – and moving on.

You are who you surround yourself with. I know that’s such a cliche quote, but it’s true.

One thing I believe that’s a key to success is celebrate your surroundings.

Appreciate your surroundings and be grateful for it and that’s when good things happen.

There is no force like success, and that is why the individual makes all effort to surround himself throughout life with the evidence of it; as of the individual, so should it be of the nation.

Perhaps the immobility of the things that surround us is forced upon them by our conviction that they are themselves, and not anything else, and by the immobility of our conceptions of them.

Surround yourself only with people who are going to take you higher.
