Laughter is the tonic, the relief, the surcease from pain.

To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it!

My pain may be the reason for somebody’s laugh. But my laugh must never be the reason for somebody’s pain.

I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position.

There’s no coming to consciousness without pain

Therefore, let Art always remind us of them, let us always have men ready to give the loving pains of a life to the faithful representing of commonplace things–men who see beauty in these commonplace things and delight in showing how kindly the light of heaven falls on them.
