Man’s inner strength may raise him above his outward fate.

Perception is a mirror, not a fact. And what I look on is my state of mind, reflected outward.

When you start to live outside yourself, it’s all dangerous.

Hope…which is whispered from Pandora’s box only after all the other plagues and sorrows had escaped, is the best and last of all things. Without it, there is only time. And time pushes at our backs like a centrifuge, forcing us outward and away, until it nudges us into oblivion.

No outward shrines may we seek, nor doctrines strange may we need, for the temple of faith is the soul within, and the creed of right is the life we lead.

Dress gives one the outward sign from which people in general can, and often do, judge upon the inward state of mind and feelings.
