What I do as an individual player is only important if it helps the team to win. That is the most important thing.
I don’t consider myself as the best player in the world. I’m not obsessed with individual titles. I’m much more interested in being part of a team which wins trophies.
Scoring goals is a great feeling, but the most important thing to me is that the team is successful – it doesn’t matter who scores the goals as long as we’re winning.
I am very happy to be signing for the best team in the world and especially proud to be the first Portuguese player to join Manchester United.
You throw batting practice, you warm up pitchers, you sit and cheer. You do whatever you have to do to stay on the team.
And if they tell you you’re not a team player, just congratulate them on being so observant.
