The world is a richer place because of literature

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.

I’m vile and perverted. I’m obsessed and deranged. I’ve existed for years but very little has changed. I’m the tool of the government and industry too. For I’m destined to rule and regulate you. I can remember no time at which a page of print was not intelligible to me and can only suppose I was born literate.
