Insurance suffers traditionally from a lack of contact with customers

My phone doesn’t ring often – it makes me jump when it does – and it’s usually people asking if I’ve been mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance. I whisper I know where you live to them, and hang up the phone very, very gently.

Texas is a great place to be rich and a terrible place to be poor. It’s got the highest percentage of people without health insurance in the country. If you get injured on the job, good luck getting workers’ comp. And God help you if you’re poor and mentally ill.
