Just to drown out all these thoughts, I tried all kinds of things

If you know someone who tries to drown their sorrows, you might tell them sorrows know how to swim.

Delusions are often functional. A mother’s opinions about her children’s beauty, intelligence, goodness, et cetera ad nauseam, keep her from drowning them at birth.

Swimming is not a sport. Swimming is a way to keep from drowning. That’s just common sense!
