Lady Bird Johnson (Dec 22 ,1912-July 11 ,2007) was the First Lady of the United States from 1963 to 1969, as the wife of President Lyndon B. Johnson during President Lyndon B. Johnson’s administration. A champion of environmental conservation and beautification efforts, she was instrumental in promoting initiatives like the Highway Beautification Act. Born Claudia Alta Taylor, she earned the nickname “Lady Bird” from her nursemaid and later adopted it formally. Her legacy includes advocating for clean air, water, and green spaces, leaving an indelible impact on American society’s appreciation for nature. After her time in the White House, she continued her activism and philanthropic work, supporting education and preservation causes
