When you’re a visitor to a city, you like to hurry up the habits, lay down a pattern, gain predictability in place of roots.

Los Angles is not my favorite city. Well, I shouldn’t say that… I love to visit it, on a temporary basis. It’s just such a company town! You can’t go anywhere and not run into someone who wants to be in the business.

At Christmas, I am always struck by how the spirit of togetherness lies also at the heart of the Christmas story. A young mother and a dutiful father with their baby were joined by poor shepherds and visitors from afar. They came with their gifts to worship the Christ child.

Have your heart right with Christ, and he will visit you often, and so turn weekdays into Sundays, meals into sacraments, homes into temples, and earth into heaven.

Visit many good books, but live in the Bible.

Nothing wrong with being from the hood, but I’d rather my kids be visitors than residents.
