I play the harmonium. I had learned to use the guitar for a bit before becoming a part of the music industry, but unfortunately didn’t pursue it fully. I would love to learn to play the piano because it holds a unique connect for me in terms of rhythm.

I started singing when I was five. I grew up the youngest of four kids who all studied classical piano, so you could say I’ve been listening to music ever since the moment of conception.

Beauty doesn’t have to be about anything. What’s a vase about? What’s a sunset or a flower about? What, for that matter, is Mozart’s Twenty-third Piano Concerto about?

Well, since I’m six years old, I’ve been playing the violin, the piano, I’ve been singing. It’s always been a dream of mine, but I really never had the courage to actually go and do it professionally.

I was very depressed when I was 19… I would go back to my apartment every day and I would just sit there. It was quiet and it was lonely. It was still. It was just my piano and myself. I had a television and I would leave it on all the time just to feel like somebody was hanging out with me.

I’ve had grand pianos that are more expensive than, like, a year’s worth of rent.
