Imagine all human beings swept off the face of the earth, excepting one man. Imagine this man in some vast city, New York or London. Imagine him on the third or fourth day of his solitude sitting in a house and hearing a ring at the door-bell!

This is my fourth final and I just hope to enjoy myself and play my game. Previously I haven’t been able to do that in finals. It’s great to meet the No.1 player in the world, it will be a good experience for me.

I am out to introduce a psychic shock into my painting, one that is always motivated by pictorial reasoning: that is to say, a fourth dimension.
