Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping, born June 15, 1953, in Beijing, China, is a prominent Chinese politician serving as the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the President of the People’s Republic of China. The son of Xi Zhongxun, a veteran revolutionary and former vice premier, Xi Jinping’s early life was marked by political turmoil, including a period in the countryside during the Cultural Revolution.
Xi Jinping’s political career began in the 1980s, and he steadily rose through the ranks of the CPC, holding various positions in local and provincial governments. In 2012, he was appointed General Secretary of the CPC and later became President in 2013. Under his leadership, China has pursued significant economic reforms and a more assertive foreign policy. Xi has also consolidated power, strengthening the role of the Communist Party and promoting the concept of “Xi Jinping Thought” as a guiding ideology.
