Details About Author:

Sitting Bull (c. 1831–1890) was a Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux chief and spiritual leader, known for his role in the Battle of Little Bighorn against General Custer in 1876. A staunch defender of Native American lands and culture, he resisted U.S. government efforts to force the Sioux onto reservations. After surrendering in 1881, he toured with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West show. Sitting Bull remained a symbol of Native American resistance until his death in 1890, killed during an arrest attempt. His legacy endures as a symbol of indigenous resilience and defiance against encroachment on Native lands.
