Harbhajan Singh (born July 3, 1980, in Jalandhar, Punjab, India) is one of India’s most famous cricketers, known for his off-spin bowling. A key player in India’s cricket team during the 2000s and 2010s, Harbhajan made his international debut in 1998 against Australia. He quickly rose to prominence with his aggressive and effective bowling style, becoming one of India’s leading wicket-takers in both Test and One-Day International (ODI) formats. Harbhajan is best remembered for his memorable performances against rival teams, particularly Australia. In 2001, he played a pivotal role in India’s historic Test series win over Australia, taking a match-winning 7 wickets in one of the Tests. He is also known for his hat-trick against the Australians in 2001, making him the first Indian bowler to achieve this feat in a Test match. In his career, Harbhajan accumulated over 400 wickets in Tests and more than 250 in ODIs, making him one of the most successful spinners in cricket history. He was a key member of India’s 2007 ICC T20 World Cup-winning team and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup-winning team.
