H. C. Bailey
H. C. Bailey, born in 1878, was an English author best known for his detective fiction during the early 20th century. He created the character of Reggie Fortune, a medical doctor and detective, featured in a series of mystery stories. Bailey’s works often intertwined medicine with crime-solving, showcasing a unique blend of investigative skills and medical knowledge. His writing, characterized by intricate plots and vivid characterizations, contributed significantly to the Golden Age of Detective Fiction. He died on 24 March 1961, aged 83, in Llanfairfechan.
