Brain Lara
Brian Lara, born May 2, 1969, in Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago, is a retired West Indian cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the sport’s history. Known for his elegant stroke play and formidable batting records, Lara holds the record for the highest individual score in both Test and first-class cricket. He scored 400 not out in a Test match against England in 2004 and 501 not out in a first-class match for Warwickshire in 1994. Lara’s exceptional career includes over 11,000 runs in Test cricket and more than 10,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs). His flair and dominance at the crease earned him accolades and admiration, making him a cricketing icon. After retiring from international cricket in 2007, Lara has remained involved in the sport through various roles, including commentary and coaching.
